Monica is crazy... but in a good way

my dear wife and i had the privilage of going to watch ladies of jazz at the basement last night.

We were assured tickets by realmums.com.au But unfortunately the promoter who realmums dealt with didn't get our names on the door. This was mildly embarrasing but we called amanda at realmums and she was kind enough to answer our call after hours, and let us know the promoter company name Stylin'Up Entertainment.

So they let us in anyhow after we stood lurking at the entrance for some time trying to figure out what to do... Thank you basement staff for being courteous and helpful during that awkward situation.

The lineup for the night was christine anu, grace knight, paulini, and monica trapaga.
Now i remember watching monica on playschool - and this was very unlike playschool.
Monica covered Ella Fitzgerald's famous Berlin recording of mack the knife, and gave it all the energy she could, and it was hilarious, but her voice gave out toward the end. But - a mega effort none the less - giving her own quirky character to covering this classic. She's very springy...

Paulini told us we're going to Hell - and that was delivered with preaching power.
Grace Knight sang some patsy cline and her pure tones and perfect delivery had every one cheering, and the banter between songs had everyone ROFL.
Christine Anu was a treasure - and engaged us all so naturally with natural woman!

But the biggest thanks must go to Rhonda - my sister in law who looked after our kids till we rolled home after midnight.
I'd share some vid, but it was too dark so there's not much to see.
