Power, Looks, Space - choose 2

Unfortunately - this is how it goes when we're looking for a motor vehicle. It's often the trade off between function, grunt and resale appearance (or current appearance) that we use to justify our decision after we've already purchased what our hearts are set on from our 'love at first sight' emotional connection... but that's another topic.

As you can see the trade off is usually unsuccessful in some respect and detracts from the whole. In this case, the looks are obviously compromised by the 'boot space', and the power is offset by weight distribution problem that we've added. It just doesn't work.

Many vehicles for journeys of birth to eternity are good looking or roomy or seem powerful, but all will fail reaching the final destination.

Thankfully, i found a vehicle that fits all the needs. If there's a vehicle that gets us to eternity, we need something with boot space, power and looks, and there's a vehicle that fits the requirement.

2 peter 1:3-9 shows us that His divine power has given us all we need for life and godliness. The vehicle is our knowledge of him. And this is the spec:

Power:

verse 4 states that in this knowledge is His great and precious promises by which you participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

Corruption in the world is strong, but the 'glory' of Him is stronger. Evil desires are strong, but this 'goodness' is stronger still. We are powerless to participate in any kind of divine nature, but here - we are promised power by knowing him who called us by his own goodness for his own glory.

Looks:

verse 5 to 7 show how we get somewhere using this vehicle, and the proof is in the test drive. This is a head turning mode of transport. In getting through life, who ends up with these qualities, that we would all agree are good looking in a person! - A lot of car ads appeal to our sense of fashion or what we think would make us look better, but driving this vehicle, all these things result as a matter of us getting in to drive.

Boot space:

lets look again at this wild bike - it's just not made to carry anything significant. It's just totally missing that purpose, so the owner has straddled it with a cumbersome weight that is totally unreasonable, and would make negotiation of the journey very difficult, if it were filled to the brim. - However, verse 8 shows us that - our vehicle will make us productive, and will bring about effective service. Not only getting us from birth to eternity, but being of service and use to others along the way. Good looks and function are going together masterfully hand in hand.
